Galvanic corrosion destroys underwater metals silently and expensively. Sacrificial anodes (zincs, or aluminum anodes in brackish water) need replacing before they waste past 50 percent — miss the window and the corrosion moves to your props, shafts, through-hulls and rudder stocks.
